No. 13 Women's Soccer soars past Emory & Henry to stay undefeated

HICKORY, NC - Competing in the Saturday nightcap, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team rolled past Emory & Henry, taking down their foes from Virginia 5-0. It was a balanced effort, as a different Bear scored each goal.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
  • Lilly Soltz opened the scoring with a header off an Evan O'leary corner in the 28th minute.
  • Rosa Gonzalez scored off a rocket left-footed shot right before the half.
  • Tea Sabin added to the scoring tally with a penalty kick in the 50th minute.
  • Montana Martin and Kennedy Flowers closed out the scoring late in the second half.
  • The Bears outshot the Wasps 35-3 in the contest, with a 15-1 edge in shots-on-goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the Bear's largest win since a 7-0 defeat of Coker on October 11th of last season.
  • Soltz, Gonzalez, Martin, and Flowers each scored their first career goals in the match.
  • LR now has a 3-0 all-time record over the Wasps
UP NEXT: The Bears play host to No 6 Columbus State on Wednesday in a battle of national powers. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
