HICKORY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis Team dominated their season-opening match against Barton on Friday, taking down the Bulldogs by a 7-0 score. 

The Bears opener by sweeping doubles to garner that point. The No. 1 doubles team of Claudia Orsini and Runa Muderrisoglu won 6-2, Nellie Wahlberg and Esther Magnusson won at No. 2 doubles 6-1, and Alexa Allison and Enrica Favaron comfortable won 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Runa Muderrisoglu won her No. 1 singles match 7-5, 6-0 over Barton's Tilde Howeler. Lenoir-Rhyne continued to dominate the singles, with Nellie Wahlberg winning 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2, Esther Magnusson winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, Claudia Orsini winning 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, Enrica Favaron winning 6-3, 6-0 at No. 5, and Alexa Allison winning 6-4, 4-6, 10-2 at No. 6. 

The Bears will be back in action next Friday when they play host to Mount Olive. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
