INDIANAPOLIS, IN -
Alexis Brown has done it again, breaking the NCAA DII Indoor 200m record in the NCAA Championship prelims on Friday. The Mableton, Georgia, native ran a time of 22.98, becoming the first DII athlete to ever break 23 seconds in an indoor 200m. This time put her 0.66 seconds ahead of the second fastest qualifier, Marie-Eloise Leclair of Simon Frasier. Brown now owns NCAA DII records in the outdoor 100m (11.04) and the indoor 200m (22.98).
Joining her in the final on Saturday will be
Melody Jones, who ran a personal best and school record time of 8.33 to finish fourth in the prelims of the 60m hurdles. This will be the second 60m hurdle final in three years for the senior.
Both Brown and Jones are now set to compete in the finals tomorrow. Brown will race the 60m at 2:45 p.m. and the 200m at 4:20 p.m. Jones will run the 60m hurdles final at 2:15 p.m.
