Alexis Brown and Melody Jones lead Bears to ninth place finish at Indoor Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Alexis Brown is now a three-time national champion in the indoor 200m dash, winning it her freshman, sophomore, and now junior years. This time was special, as she obliterated her own DII indoor record with a time of 22.88 in the final, .70 faster than the runner up. Brown also took second in the 60m dash, clocking in a time of 7.28 in the final. This gave her a total of 18 points in the meet.

Garnering the other point was senior Melody Jones, who finished 8th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.50. This is her second All-American finish in the 60m hurdles, as she also did so in 2023.

Despite just having two athletes, the Bears finished tied for ninth as a team with 19 total points. They were the highest finishing SAC school, as Wingate tallied eight points and Tusculum notched two.
