COLUMBUS, GA - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball team's storied run continues tomorrow as they take on UNC Pembroke for a chance to win the Southeast Regional Title and advance to the Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana.
Tomorrow's game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Lumpkin Center in Columbus, Georgia, on the campus of Columbus State University. If you can't make the game, the official watch party is being held at Kickback Jacks in Hickory.
The Bears are having arguably the best season in school history, as they set a school record with 28 wins and advanced to the NCAA DII Sweet 16 for just the second time in program history (2016). The furthest any Bear squad has ever gone was the NAIA Quarterfinals during the 1992-93 season. This season Lenoir-Rhyne captured their first SAC Tournament Championship since 2003, taking down Anderson, Catawba, and Lincoln Memorial. They advanced to the regional championship thanks to a 94-79 win over Augusta on Saturday and a tight, come-from-behind 91-87 victory over USC Aiken Sunday evening.
