Hickory, N.C.-- The #8 ranked Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team was firing on all cylinders in their return to Durham Field, defeating UVA-Wise 15-1 to open their weekend series with the Cavs.
Sal Carricato went 3-for-4 with a home run and a pair of doubles along with 6 RBI's.
Cole Stanford and
Owen Blackledge also left the yard as the Bears move to 10-3 in the SAC.
Andrew Harlow had a season high 11 strikeouts in six innings to pick up his sixth victory of the year.

GAME INFO:
- Nick Badgett led the game off for the Cavs with a solo home run, the only run Andrew Harlow would give up as the ace went six innings to move to 6-0 on the season.
- LR recorded five hits in the first inning as the Bears scored two unearned runs to take lead to 2-1.
- Owen Blackledge and Sal Carricato each hit long bombs in the third to give LR a 5-1 lead.
- Carricato's seventh double of the season drove in the Bears sixth run of the game as Bears were up 4-1 after four innings.
- The Bears then broke the game wide open with a nine-run 5th inning as Carricato's three-run double and a Cole Stanford home run were the highlight of the inning.
- LR had 16 more hits today as seven Bears had at least two hits. Carricato and Stanford each had three to lead the team.
- All nine Bears scored a run in this one as Blackledge and Cole Laskowski touched home three times.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bears have won the first dozen games against the Cavs as LR is now 12-0 all-time in the series
- Mackenzie Wainwright came into the weekend first in all of Division II in hits (51) and runs (47).
- Wainwright's hitting streak is now at 16 games.
- Carricato extended his to 12 games.
- Carricato's six RBI's was one shy of the program record of seven by Craig Seizmore in 2001.
- This is the second straight game am LR hitter had six RBI's as Tyler Bradley had six last Saturday in the win at Emory & Henry.
- Stanford was named SAC and Southeast regional player of the week for last week stayed hot with three more hits and drove in three more runs.
