Hickory, N.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team dominated Emory & Henry on Wednesday, winning by scores of 12-2 and 18-5 in two five-inning affairs. It was a milestone day for Head Coach
Shena Hollar, as she earned her 1000th career Lenoir-Rhyne victory in game two.
Coach Hollar now sits at 1,045 career victories and ranks fifth among active DII coaches in total wins. Her .713 career winning percentage ranks her second among those five active coaches with 1,000 wins. She ranks 11th all-time in total DII wins.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- After the Wasps scored twice in the top of the second, Kaylee Chapman got the Bears back within a run with a RBI single.
- The Bears broke the game open with a six-run third inning, highlighted by a two-run bomb by Katelyn Rackard.
- The Bears ended the game early thanks to a five-spot in the fifth, helped in part by Rackard's second home run of the day.
- Madison Wilson (11-5) allowed just two runs and struck out five in the complete game victory.
- Every Bear who stepped up to the plate ended up on base at least once in this game.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Madison Primm opened the scoring with a two-out, 3 RBI home run in the first inning.
- The Wasps answered with four runs in the second to take the lead.
- Lenoir-Rhyne came back with eight runs in the bottom of the second.
- Katelyn Rackard, Julia Mardigian, Cassidy Wall, and Alexandria Gray all picked up RBI's in the inning.
- The Bears scored six of their seven fourth inning runs on two three-run shots from Gray and Alycia Gilliam.
- Gray was 3-for-3 at the plate with five RBI's and two runs scored.
- Alissa Russ (4-2) allwed just one run in 2.2 innings of work to get the win.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- LR is now 7-1 all-time against the Wasps.
- Rackard's home runs were the 26th and 27th of her career.
- Julia Mardigian tied the school's double record in game two with the 62nd of her career.
