Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team took down non-conference foe King (Tenn.) 11-3 and 13-2 in a rare Monday doubleheader. Leading the way on the day was sophomore
Madison Primm, who went 5-for-7 with four RBI's, four runs scored, and her 16th home run of the year.
The Bears hit five home runs in the first game and one in the second, bringing their season total to 81. This leads Division II and is third all-time in a single season in school history.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne went up 1-0 in the first inning thanks to an RBI double from Avery Kiger.
- King answered with a two-run shot in the top of the first before Madison Wilson tied things up with an RBI single.
- The Tornado re-took the lead with another run in the top of the third.
- Five different Bears hit home runs in the fifth and sixth innings to pull away and win game one.
- Madison Primm walked the game off with a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.
- Madison Wilson (13-7) tied a career high with 11 strikeouts in a complete game victory.
- Katelyn Rackard, Primm, and Lani Warren each finished with two RBI's.Â
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- The Bears went up 3-0 after one, thanks in part to a 2 RBI single from Avery Kiger.
- Madison Primm picked up two RBI's in the second to extend the lead to 5-0.
- Lenoir-Rhyne pulled away with eight runs bottom of the fourth.
- Highlighting the fourth inning was a Julia Mardigian 2 RBI double and a three-run shot from Faith Carrigan.
- Carrigan did it all in this one, going 2-for-3 with three RBI's while also striking out six in a complete game victory in the circle.
STATSÂ OF THE MATCH:
- Bears have won six in a row against the Tornado and are 19-5 overall.
- With her steal in game two, Katelyn Rackard now sits at second all-time in school history with 62 stolen bases.
- Madison Primm now has 31 home runs in just two seasons as a Bear.
- Five Bears have hit double-digit home runs this season.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will conclude the SAC regular with a pair of games against Carson-Newman on Friday afternoon. The Eagles are 29-16 (13-9 SAC) and are one game behind the Bears for second place in the SAC. Carson-Newman is tied with Lincoln Memorial for third as the Bears look to secure home field advantage in the opening round of the SAC Tournament. First-pitch is scheduled for 1:00 pm with Senior Day ceremony before first-pitch.Â
