Anderson, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team dropped a pair of games at Anderson on Tuesday afternoon. In the first game, LR was held to just two hits as Anderson took the opener 5-1. In the night cap,
Lani Warren hit her 6th home run of the season, but Trojans battled back and swept the doubleheader from the Bears with a 4-3 win.
LR will look to rebound on Saturday as they head to Limestone for a double header.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- The Bears got on the board with an unearned run in the third inning but that would be Lenoir-Rhyne's only run as the Bears were held to just two singles in this one.
- Anderson scored three times in the fourth and a pair in the fifth to take game one 5-1.
- Madison Wilson threw the complete game in the circle allowing the five runs.
- Kaylee Chapman and Julia Mardigian got the singles for LR as Chapman scored for the fifth time in the last five games.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Warren's sixth home run of the season got the Bears on the board, a two-run shot in the 3rd.
- Madison Primm extended the lead with a RBI single later in the inning.
- Anderson got a run back in the 3rd but it was Maddie Carpenter who delivered the big blow with a three-run home run in the bottom of the 5th to give Anderson the lead.
- LR had a couple of runs on in the 6th but the Trojans got out of it with a double play.
- Warren and Avery Kiger had two hits as LR had nine hits in the night cap.
- Faith Carrigan took the loss in the circle, going the distance with five strikeouts.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- Bears had won four in a row at Anderson before today, including last year's SAC Tournament Championship Series.
- This was the Bears first time being swept in SAC play this season.
- Warren's home run was the 17th of her career.
- Alexandra Gray had herself a March as the Sophomore hit .411 with 4 home runs and 22 RBI's, including a 15 game hitting streak.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will head back to South Carolina on Saturday as a trip to Gaffney is on deck to face Limestone. The Saints are 12-18 on the season and 7-9 in the SAC as Limestone will travel to Emory & Henry today before hosting the Bears on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
