GREENSBORO/BOONE, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Track & Field team was split between the App State Open and the NC A&T Aggie Invitational this past weekend.
Highlighting the weekend yet again was star sprinter
Alexis Brown, who ran a wind-legal time of 11.08 seconds in the 100m dash to win the event. That time is the second fastest legal DII time of all-time, just behind her own 11.04 set last year. It also makes her the second fastest wind-legal athlete across all NCAA divisions this year.
Also taking first in her event was
Holly Kone, who won the triple jump at the App State Open with a leap of 11.88m (38-11.75) on her second jump.
Zanetta Udo-Obong has come alive this year, as she took second in the 100m Dash at App State with a new personal best time of 11.97 seconds. Finishing third in their respective events were
Kimberley Owens (Long Jump) and
Julia Karnilowicz (Javelin).
