HICKORY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse team left no doubt against Catawba on Wednesday afternoon, winning 23-9 at Moretz Stadium. Leading the way on the day for the Bears was
Jarrett Huff, who finished with two goals and four assists in the win.
The Bears have now closed the season on an eight game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 154-64 during that time.

STORY OF THE GAME
- It was a slow start for both teams, as the score was 1-1 halfway through the opening quarter.
- Jarrett Huff scored back-to-back goals in to spark a 4-1 run from LR to close the quarter.
- After Catawba scored to open the second quarter, Donovan Powell scored two back-to-back goals of his own to extend the lead to 7-3.
- LR scored three more goals, including a Sportscenter Top Ten worthy over the shoulder goal from Evan Voss, and led 10-5 at the break.
- The floodgates opened in the third with the Bears outscoring the Indians 9-3.
- Three of those goals came from Morgan Madish, who finished with four on the day.
- The Bears didn't let up in the fourth, outscoring Catawba 4-1 in the frame to secure the 14-goal victory.
STATS OF THE GAME
- Jarrett Huff led the Bears with six points, while Donovan Powell and Morgan Madish each tallied four goals.
- Evan Voss notched his fifth game of the season with at least three assists.
- Matthew Mancini was unstoppable on faceoffs, going 20-24 with 13 ground balls.
- Lenoir-Rhyne tied a season high with 61 shots in the game, and led 41-14 in shots on goal.
- Jack Burdge made four saves in the victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Evan Voss is just the third Bear to ever record at least 100 career assists.
- Lenoir-Rhyne won a season-high 25 face offs in this one.
- The Bears are 11-4 all-time against the Indians and haven't lost since 2015.
- Thanks to this win, the Bears are 41-4 at home in the past five seasons.
