ANDERSON, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse couldn't quite hold on to their lead on Wednesday night, as after leading by six in the first half and four in the second, Anderson came storming back to reach their first SAC Championship game with a 16-15 win.
This marks the first time since 2019 the Bears have failed to reach the conference title game. Leading the way with hat tricks in this one was
Joel Brusnahan and
Jarrett Huff.

STORY OF THE GAME
- Joel Brusnahan put LR up early with the Bears' first three goals.
- The teams were tied 4-4 after one.
- Lenoir-Rhyne dominated the beginning of the second quarter, opening the frame on a 6-0 run.
- Anderson answered, closing the quarter on a 5-0 run to trail just 10-9 at the break.
- Evan Voss, Matt Scruggs, and Jarrett Huff quickly put LR back up four with the first three goals of the second half.
- After the teams traded goals, LR led 14-10 going into the final 15 minutes of play.
- The Trojans used momentum from their home crowd to stun the Bears, scoring the first four goals of the quarter to tie things up at 14-14.
- Huff gave LR a brief lead, but two late goals from Anderson gave them the win.

- Joel Brusnuhan led with four points, while Donovan Powell picked up two goals and an assist.
- Matthew Mancini was 17-28 on face offs and scoed a goal.

- This is the first time since 2019 Lenoir-Rhyne has lost to a SAC team twice in the same season.
- Lenoir-Rhyne also failed to win the conference title in 2023, which then led to a national title run.
- The Bears still hold a 4-2 all-time lead over Anderson.
The Bears will now have to wait until Sunday night at 7:30 to hear if they will advance to their fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament. They currently sit as the #3 seed in the region.
