Softball's season concludes in Regional Final

DAHLONEGA, GA - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team saw their 2025 season come to the end as North Georgia defeated the Bears 6-4 on Sunday to advance to the Super Regional. This game started Saturday afternoon and with the scored tied at two in the 3rd inning, the rain came and halted the teams until Sunday morning.  The Bears took a 4-2 lead in the third inning but the Nighthawks scored the game's last four runs to end the Bears' season.

This season saw the Bears win their tenth SAC Tournament Championship and make their 17th NCAA Appearance. 

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STORY OF GAME:
  • Alexandria Gray got the Bears on the board with a RBI single in the second then came around to score on an North Georgia error to open a two-run lead.
  • With the rain coming down even harder, North Georgia tied the game with a pair of runs in the third inning before the game was halted until Sunday morning. 
  • RBI's from Avery Kiger and Julia Mardigian gave LR the lead again at 4-2 but this would be the last time the Bears scored as North Georgia scored responded with three runs in the 4th and added an insurance run in the 5th. 
  • The Bears had the tying runs on base in the 7th but North Georgia got a fly out to center field to end the threat.

  • This game started Saturday afternoon but was halted due to rain in the third inning.
  • Julia Mardigian finished her career tied with Erin Boone with 282 career hits. 
  • Madison Primm finished the season with 79 hits, which is fifth most in one single season.
  • The Bears in all finished with 560 hits, which is fourth most in one season. 
  • Lenoir-Rhyne's 95 home runs ranks second in program history.
