WINGATE, N.C. - Behind yet another gem of a performance in the circle from
Faith Carrigan, the Lenoir-Rhyne softball team booked their ticket to tomorrow's SAC Championship game with a 4-1 win over Wingate on Friday.Â
Carrigan, who threw a no-hitter in her last outing, allowed just one run and struck out four in the complete game victory.Â

STORY OF GAME:
- This was a pitching battle, as the teams were scoreless through the first three innings.
- Wingate's Hannah Stevens opened the scoring with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth.
- Lenoir-Rhyne scored all four of their runs in the top of the sixth.
- Madison Primm opened the inning with a home run to right field, her 18th of the year.
- Follwoing two walks, Julia Mardigian hit a nRBI double to give the Bears their first lead of the game.
- Erin Lookabill scored on an Alexandria Gray goundout, and Faith Carrigan closed out the scoring with an RBI double.
- Carrigan allowed just one base runner over the final two innings to seal the win.
STATSÂ OF GAME::
- Faith Carrigan (14-7) allowed just four hits all game and failed to walk a single batter.
- Madison Primm was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.
- Julia Mardigian was 1-for-1 with an RBI, run scored, and two walks.
- There were just nine total hits in this game.
BEYONDÂ THE BOX SCORE:
- In her last 12 innings of work Carrigan has allowed one run and four hits, all while striking out nine and walking just three.
- Mardigan inches closer to the all-time hits record as she now has 279 on her career.
- This marks the 12th SAC Championship game appearance for LR.Â
