HICKORY, NC - Grahm Smith has announced he is stepping down from his position as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Lenoir-Rhyne. Smith will be taking over as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at NCAA Division II Palm Beach Atlantic University, his alma mater. 

"Serving as the head women's basketball coach at Lenoir-Rhyne has been a great honor, and I am proud of our team's accomplishments," stated Smith. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such dedicated student-athletes, supportive colleagues and an administration that values excellence in both academics and athletics. LR been instrumental in preparing me for this next step in my career at my alma mater."

Smith closes out his Lenoir-Rhyne career as the third winningest coach in Bears history, tallying a record of 75-62 in five seasons. During his time in Hickory Smith led the Bears to two NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2022-23 SAC Tournament Championship. 

A national search for his replacement will begin immediately.
