ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball team went 1-1 on their opening day in Florida, falling 3-1 to Embry-Riddle before taking down the host Flagler 3-1 in the nightcap.

STATS OF THE MATCH GAME ONE:
- After a comfortable opening game win, Embry-Riddle took three straight from the Bears.
- The Bears led 24-21 in the third set, but the Eagles scored six of the final seven points to take the set.
- Lenoir-Rhyne couldn't hold on to an early lead and fell 25-20 in the deciding set.
- The Bears had 18 service errors in this one, their most in over 20 years.
- Lenoir-Rhyne led Embry-Riddle in hitting % (.130 to .115).
- Kayli Cleaver had 11 kills while Sydney Karjala dished out 17 assists.
- Averie Dale led the team with six blocks.
STATS OF THE MATCH GAME TWO:
- Strong finishes to the first and second set put the Bears up 2-0.
- Flagler rallied late to take set three, but the Bears closed the game out with a gritty 25-23 victory in set three.
- Kayli Cleaver tied a career high with 20 kills in the match, hitting at a .405 clip.
- Averie Dale was all over the stat sheet, finishing with 12 kills, four service aces, three blocks, three digs, and three assists.
- Emmie Modlin led the team with 26 assists.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will close out the Flagler Invitational tomorrow with matchpus vs. Lees-McRae and Ashland. The LMC game will be at 10 a.m. while the Ashland game is set for 4 p.m.
