Wasps tame Bears in Virginia

EMORY, VA - Lenoir-Rhyne struggled on Wednesday, falling 4-2 on the road at Emory & Henry. 

The Bears will look to regroup on Saturday when they travel to Wingate to take on the Bulldogs.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
  • A midfield battle early on, Emory & Henry scored on the game's first shot in the 13th minute.
  • The Bears put the pressure on midway through the second half and eventually got their breakthrough goal from Hector Taboada in the 29th minute.
  • The teams went into the break locked at 1-1.
  • Emory & Henry took advantage of two failed corner kicks from the Bears, going the other way and taking a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute.
  • Two more goals in the final 15 minutes from the Wasps effectively put the game away.

UP NEXT: The Bears travel to Wingate for a big conference game on Saturday. The Bulldogs currently sit at 1-4 (1-0 SAC) and fell 3-0 to Palm Beach Atlantic last weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from the WU Soccer Complex & Pride Park.
