MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's basketball team keeps rolling, defeating Mars Hill 109-64 earlier this afternoon.
This win today tied two school records; most consecutive wins (15) and most 100-point games in a season (5). The consecutive wins record was set during the 1979-80 campaign and the 100-point games mark was in 1980-81.
Abigail Brown led the Bears today with 27 points on 8-13 from the field and 8-8 from the free throw line. Freshman
Peyton Harvey poured in a career high 17 points in the win.

STORY OF THE GAME:
- Lenoir-Rhyne led 20-11 in the opening quarter before six points in the final minute from Mars Hill cut the lead to three at the end of the frame.
- Leading 26-22, two consecutive threes from Abigail Brown and another from Peyton Harvey quickly extended the lead to 13.
- Brown scored 14 in the second quarter and propelled the Bears to a 54-36 lead at the break.
- The Bears went on a 7-0 run to start the third thanks to buckets from Amiya Porter, Brown, and Aaliyah El.
- Another Harvey bucket gave Lenoir-Rhyne a 72-41 lead with 6:09 remaining in the third.
- The Bears continued to dominate the fourth quarter, outscoring the Lions 25-9 in the frame and holding them to a 23% shooting clip.
STATS OF THE GAME:
- Five Bears finished in double-figures, led by Abigail Brown's 27 and Lauren Arnold's 18.
- Brown stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with five rebounds, five steals, and two blocks.
- Arnold was just two rebounds shy of a double-double.
- Aaliyah El (10 points) was in double-figures for the 21st game this season.
- The Bears shot 36-80 (45%) from the field, 12-41 (29.3%) from three, and 25-36 (69.4%) from the free throw line.
- Mars Hill was just 22-63 (34.9%) from the field, 5-25 (20%) from three, and 15-25 (60%) from the free throw line.
- The Bears bench outscored the Lions bench 47-32.

- In two games vs. Mars Hill the year the Bears are averaging 110 ppg and have outscored the Lions by a combined 78 points.
- This marks the 11th 20 win season in program history and the sixith as an NCAA DII institution.
- Lenoir-Rhyne is averaging 86.3 points per game, tied for the third most in DII.
- The Bears are now 48-32 all-time against Mars Hill and have won five of the last six meetings.
