HICKORY, N.C. - Down 4-2, the Lenoir-Rhyne baseball team scored 19 runs over the final four innings to grab a 21-6 win over visiting USC Beaufort on Tuesday.
The Bears put up 20 hits in this one, led by four from
Lleyton Lackey,
Matt Procopio, and
Seth Christmas. Christmas, Lackey, and
Mackenzie Wainwright each went yard for the second time this season.
Six Lenoir-Rhyne pitchers were used in this game with
Donnie Canchela getting the start and
Preston Drebes picking up the win.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- RBIs from Seth Christmas and Sylas Boris put the Bears up 2-0 in the second inning.
- The Sand Sharks used a home run and two RBI singles to take a 4-2 lead after four.
- Mackenzie Wainwright introduced himself in the fifth, launching a 2-run home run to tie the game.
- Christmas hit an RBI double to put the Bears ahead and a throwing error allowed him to score on the next at bat to extend the lead.
- The Bears scored five runs in the sixth and nine in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
- Lleyton Lackey did his damage late, hitting a 3-run bomb in the seventh and picking up an RBI single later in the inning.
- Lenoir-Rhyne scored their final run in the eighth off a Henry Stewart RBI single to score Xavier Mann.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Sylas Boris and Lleyton Lackey each had five RBIs while Seth Christmas went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored.
- Nine Bears picked up a hit in the game while 10 scored.
- The Bears out hit the Sand Sharks 20-9.
- Preston Drebes (1-0) was effective in his two innings pitched, not allowing a hit and picking up three strikeouts.

UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will hit the road this weekend for a South Atlantic Conference series against Carson-Newman. The Eagles are 8-2 (1-2 SAC) and most recently defeated Alabama Huntsville 10-6 earlier today. They lost two of three against Lincoln Memorial to open SAC play last week. First pitch for Friday's contest is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
