Women's Lacrosse falls to No. 2 Florida Southern

LAKELAND, FL - Lenoir-Rhyne women's lacrosse dropped to 2-5 on the season after a 19-8 loss at #2 Florida Southern on Saturday morning. All five of Lenoir-Rhyne's losses have been to ranked teams, with three of them being teams in the top-ten. 

Kirra Olson netted her second straight hat trick while Florida native Jillian Daley posted the first multi-goal game of her career.

STORY OF THE GAME
  • Florida Southern went up 11-1 before goals from Hailey Larsen and Jillian Daley stopped the bleeding.
  • Down 16-3 in the third the Bears went on a quick 4-0 scoring run, led by two goals from Kirra Olson.
  • The Mocs answered by scoring four of the final five goals to seal the win.
STATS OF THE GAME
  • Jillian Daley (2g, 3a) led the team with five points. 
  • Delaney Williams was tops with three caused turnovers. 
  • Sally Friesen made nine saves in net.
  • The Mocs out-shot the Bears 37-14 and held a 24-5 edge in draw controls.
NEXT UP: The Bears will return to conference play next Wednesday when they travel to Catawba. The Catawba Indians are 3-3 on the year and take on Indiana (PA) later this afternoon.
