WISE, VA - Lenoir-Rhyne softball just keeps winning. They won their 15th and 16th consecutive games today with 7-4 and 5-3 victories on the road at UVA Wise.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Autumn Joyce opened the scoring with a run in the first off an RBI single by Alexandria Gray.
- Neither team scored over the next two innings until Lani Warren hit a solo home run in the fourth.
- Madison Wilson helped herself out on the mound with a 2 RBI triple late to put the Bears up 4-0.
- UVA Wise chipped away, cutting the lead to 4-3 heading into the seventh.
- With two outs and a runner on second, Avery Kiger hit an RBI single to extend the lead.
- Gray stepped up and hit a two-run home run on the next at bat.
- The Cavaliers picked up a run in the bottom of the seventh but Faith Carrigan came in and forced a 6-4-3 double play to end the game.
- Madison Wilson (11-1) struck out six in the win while also going 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a run.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- UVA Wise took an early 1-0 lead before a 2 RBI single from Lani Warren and RBI double from Faith Carrigan gave the Bears the lead.
- The Cavaliers tied things up at three before a solo shot from Lani Warren broke the draw.
- With two outs and two runners on, Faith Carrigan got a strikeout to get out of a jam in the sixth.
- She then helped herself in the top of the seventh with her second RBI of the game to make it 5-3.
- Madison Primm and Carrigan each posted three hits in this one.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Carrigan's save in game one was the second of her career.
- Freshman Autumn Joyce leads the team with a .430 batting average and 34 hits.
- Madison Primm and Lani Warren are tied for the team lead with six home runs.
- The Bears are four wins away from tying their all-time best win streak of 20 games in 2017.
