EMORY, VA - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team swept Emory & Henry 1-0 and 6-1 on Tuesday to move to 10-0 in conference play.
Madison Wilson won the first game by herself, throwing an incredible one-hit, 12 strikeout shutout and driving in the game's only run.
Lenoir-Rhyne scored all their runs in game two off home runs from
Lani Warren (2),
Adriana Lamantia, and
Faith Carrigan (2). Carrigan had another fantastic day on the mound, striking out seven while allowing just one run in the complete game victory.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Neither pitcher allowed a hit until Lani Warren's single in the top of the fourth.
- Adriana Lamantia got on with a single in the fifth and was brought home by an RBI single from pitcher Madison Wilson two batters later.
- Emory & Henry's Hannah Booth broke up Wilson's no-hitter in the bottom of the sixth with a single down the right field line.
- The Wasps stranded one in the bottom of the seventh after Wilson forced a groundout to first.
- Wilson (13-2) finished with 12 strikeouts, a new personal best.
- Lamantia was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Lani Warren opened up the scoring with a two-run shot in the first.
- Emory & Henry hit a home run in the bottom of the first to cut the lead to one.
- Faith Carrigan hit the seventh home run of her career in the second, a three-run bomb to right center.
- Adriana Lamantia continued her strong day with a solo home run in the third.
- The Wasps loaded the bases in the fifth but Carrigan forced a fly out to get out of the jam.
- Warren and Carrigan hit back-to-back jacks in the seventh to give the game it's final score.
- Carrigan (11-3) threw her 13th complete game of the season.
- Warren and Carrigan combined to go 6-for-8 with five runs and seven RBIs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bears are 11-1 all-time against the Wasps and have won eight straight.
- This marks Lenoir-Rhyne's best conference start since they began 11-0 in 2016.
- Madison Wilson now has 51 wins on her career.
UP NEXT: The Bears continue their road trip on Friday when they travel to Wingate. The Bulldogs are 19-13 (4-6 SAC) on the year and face Tusculum tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. from Wingate, N.C.
