Rock Hill, S.C.-- The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball team saw their 19-game winning streak come to end in the SAC Quarterfinals as the #8 seed Anderson Trojans defeated the top seeded Bears 79-63 on Wednesday afternoon. Anderson shot 50.9% from the floor and 62% from long range to end the Bears streak.
Lenoir-Rhyne will now wait until Selection Sunday to see where they are seeded in next week's Southeast Regional.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STORY OF THE GAME:
- Anderson came out and took a early 17-5 lead half way through the first quarter.
- A three-pointer by Amiya Porter cut the Trojans lead to 19-14 with 2:15 left in the first period, the closest the LR would get the rest of the way.
- As hot as Anderson was in the first period, they were hotter in the second, shooting 58% in the second and a perfect 4-4 from 3 to take a 46-31 lead into the break.
- LR could not getting anything going in the 3rd quarter as the Bears shot just 23% (4-17) from the floor.
- Aaliyah El made a layup with 2:01 left to get the Bears within twelve but Anderson closed the game strong to end Lenoir-Rhyne's streak.
STATS OF THE GAME:
- Abigail Brown and Aaliyah El led the Bears with 14 points each while Amiya Porter had 13 points.
- Anderson out rebounded the Bears 32-21.
- El had six of the Bears sixteen steals.
- LR only hit 8 of their 31 three point attempts (25.8%) while the Trojans were 10 of 16 from long range.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Bears fall to 1-3 all time in the SAC Tournament against Anderson.
- This is the third year that the SAC Tournament took place in Rock Hill.
- El's six steals is one off her season-high of seven against Tusculum.
- Bears shot 35.7% from the floor, which was their worst mark of the season.
