Baseball celebrates seniors in 16-6 win over Lincoln Memorial

HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne baseball team won their final game of the season at Durham Field on Saturday, taking down Lincoln Memorial 16-6 in eight innings.

Prior to the game seniors Andrew Stillinger, Seth Christmas, Preston Drebes, Kyle Murphy, Donnie Canchela, Luke Elmore, Larson Scholtz, Nathan Kidder, and Brynden Rodriguez were honored. 

The Bears finish the regular season 35-11-1 and their 23-9-1 SAC record earns them a #3 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

  • Down 1-0, Lenoir-Rhyne scored seven runs in the first inning to break the game open.
  • Seth Christmas started the scoring barrage with a two-run home run.
  • Mackenzie Wainwright closed out the inning with a 2 RBI triple to left.
  • Lincoln Memorial answered with four in the second.
  • Matt Procopio hit a home run in the fourth to extend the lead to 11-5.
  • Senior Nathan Kidder walked off the game with an RBI double in the eighth.
