Paul Toovalian allowed just three hits and one run in seven innings on the mound to help propel Lenoir-Rhyne to a 2-1 series opening victory over Newberry.
Mackenzie Wainwright accounted for both of Lenoir-Rhyne's runs, including a game-winning solo home run in the top of the eighth.

STORY OF GAME:
- Neither team had a hit until Mackenzie Wainwright singled home Sylas Boris in the top of the third.
- Paul Toovalian held the Wolves hitless until they hit back-to-back singles in the sixth.
- Newberry scored their only run on a groundout RBI in the bottom of the seventh.
- Wainwright answered with his 12th home run of the season in the eighth to put the Bears ahead.
- Michael Burnley came in and threw two strong innings to pick up the save.
