HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team advanced to the championship round of the SAC Tournament with a 2-1 win over Emory & Henry on Saturday.
Lani Warren and
Faith Carrigan each hit solo home runs to give the Bears the win. Carrigan picked up the win in the circle, striking out four in the complete game victory.

STORY OF GAME:
- Lani Warren got things going in the first with a solo home run on the third at bat of the game.
- Emory & Henry scored once in the fifth and put two on the bases before Faith Carrigan struck out the final two batters.
- Carrigan gave herself the win with a solo home run to left field in the sixth.

- Warren's home run was her 39th career home run, which tied her with Kat Rivers for 5th all-time.
- This is the second straight season the Bears have swept Emory & Henry in the opening round.
- Carrigan brought her season ERA down to 1.95 with today's win.
UP NEXT: Bears will host the SAC Championship Series starting next Thursday. The series will be a four-team, double elimination bracket that takes place on Thursday-Saturday. The Bears are looking to win their third straight SAC Tournament championship. More information on the upcoming tournament will come out early next week.
