HICKORY, N.C. -- In a rematch of last year's NCAA first round, Columbus State scored four second half goals on Saturday afternoon to defeat the Bears 4-1 inside the Moretz Sports Athletic Complex.
Mya Jarvis scored the Bears lone goal in the 88th minute, her first goal of the season.
Columbus State's Mia Robinson scored a second half hat trick to help the Cougars pull away.

STORY OF THE MATCH:
- The first half was scoreless as both teams had four shots. Despite the fact all four LR shots were on goal, the Bears failed to find the back of the net.
- The second half was all Cougars, especially Mia Robinson. She scored in the 53th minute to open the scoring while Sarah Dennis added a goal just seven minutes latter.
- Robinson scored her second and third goals of the half late in the game, completing the hat trick.
- The Bears avoided the clean sheet with Mya Jarvis' goal in the 88th minute.
STATS OF THE MATCH:
- The Bears had chances, putting nine shots on frame, eight of which were saved by CSU's Huda Sayedzada.
- Freshman Madalyn Wright made her first career start in goal for the Bears, making five saves.
- Alexis Cagno had four shots to lead LR as all four of her shots were on goal.
- Lenoir-Rhyne tied a season high with 11 corner kicks this afternoon.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- This was the first time Columbus State has defeated the Bears since the 2022 season. LR was 2-0-2 in the previous four matchups, including two postseason contests.
- Today's game was the last non conference home game on the schedule. LR will still travel to #17 North Georgia and USC Beaufort this season outside of SAC play.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will now get ready to step back into conference play when Emory & Henry comes to Hickory on Wednesday. The Wasps are now 2-3-2 and 0-2-1 in the SAC after they fell to No. 8 Catawba today 1-0. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
