Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics

Ned Kaish

It is no suprise that the Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse program reached its highest heights since Ned Kaish was added to the staff. In his three years, LR has made two appearances in the National Championship game, including winning it all in 2023. The Bears have appeared in the NCAA Tournament all three years under Kaish and won two SAC Regular Season and SAC Tournament titles.

The Bears own a 54-10 record during Kaish's career and he coached Eric Dickinson to one of the most prolific scoring careers in NCAA Division II history. Under Kaish's guidance, Dickinson finished with over 300 career points and in the top 10 in NCAA history in career points and goals. After Dickinson's graduation, Kaish coached Myles Moffat and Toron Eccleston to both surpass the 200-point mark for their careers. Moffat, Eccleston and Dickinson are the top three goal scorers in program history.

Kaish coached the offensive unit to unmatched heights in their National Championship season in 2023. The program broke every offensive record in team history with 553 points, 344 goals and 209 assists. The Bears broke the single-game record for most assists and most man-up goals in the 2023 season and Eccleston and Moffat were each named All-Americans. However, it was Evan Voss who had the largest impact under Kaish during the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Voss finished as the Most Outstanding Player and had 12 goals and six assists in his four NCAA Tournament games, including four goals and one assist in the National Champinship game. In total, the Bears scored 20 goals in the National Championship, the second-most in DII history and the eight goal scored in the second quarter are tied for the most in any quarter of a National Championship game in DII history.

Kaish had a storied playing career with the Bears as well, ranking sixth in program history in points (170), fifth in goals scored (124) and is tied for the most man-up goals in program history. Kaish’s 42 goals scored in 2015 ranks as the 10th highest single season total in program history and his 21 games with a hat trick is tied for the fifth most all-time. Kaish earned First Team All-Conference accolades in 2015.

Prior to returning to LR, Kaish served as the Head Coach at Northview High School in Johns Creek, Ga. from 2017-19 and took his team to the playoff all three years. Kaish coached three all-state players and one all-american at Northview.

The season before, Kaish was an Assistant Coach at Greater Atlanta Christian School and helped the team to a Final Four appearance and a school record for goals scored in a season.

Kaish played his high school lacrosse at Walton High School in Marietta, Ga. and also played varsity football. He was part of the 2011 Lacrosse State Championship squad.
