Charlotte Clarke has been named the newest Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Tennis Associate Head Coach after serving as a graduate assistant for over a year in Hickory.
During her first year in Hickory, Clarke took over as the acting head coach for the program for the last month of the 2022-23 season. She helped oversee the team that consisted of All-SAC Second Team Singles player Evgeniya Pugina and All-SAC First Team Doubles pair Alicia Wahlberg and Lucy Whelan.
Clarke came to Lenoir-Rhyne after spending five years with the Coker women’s tennis program. In her most recent year with the program, Clarke was an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs.
From 2017-2021, Clarke participated as a student-athlete for the Coker women’s tennis program. In her last three seasons with the Cobras, Clarke was team captain and played consistently at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles line.
In 2021, Clarke excelled on and off the court for the Cobras. Her on-court performances landed her on First Team All-SAC for both singles and doubles and was named the Timberlake Female Athlete of the Year. Off the court, Clarke earned the Division II ADA Academic Achievement Award and was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
Clarke earned a Bachelor of Arts in physical education with a concentration in exercise science and a minor in business administration from Coker. She earned Magna Cum Laude for her 3.8 overall GPA and had an in-major GPA of 4.0. At Lenoir-Rhyne, Clarke is gaining a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship; she is expected to graduate in May 2024.
