Lenoir-Rhyne University Athletics

Mikayla Ray joins the Lenoir Rhyne University Lady Bears as they conclude their 2021-22 season as the teams Graduate Assistant. She is currently working towards receiving her Masters in Exercise Science, while assisting the Lady Bears.
 
Ray came to LR having recently concluded her playing career at William Peace University. She appeared in 99 games, starting all 99 that she appeared in. Over four seasons with the Pacers Ray concluded her career at 60-39. She averaged 14 points, and 11 rebounds per contest. All four years Ray received All-Conference honors in the USA South East Division, and graduated from William Peace as the first basketball player in school history to be a member of both the 1000 points and 1000 rebounds club. In Ray’s senior season she helped lead her team to their first ever NCAA DIII tournament appearance. 
 
A native of Asheville, N.C., Ray graduated from Carolina Day School where she was a member of the 7-Time NCISAA State Championship program for 2 years. In her time there she helped contribute to two of those State Championships. 
 
Ray earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from William Peace University in May of 2020.
