Queens Men's Soccer Shuts Out Lenoir-Rhyne, 2-0

Charlotte, N.C. - The Queens University Men's Soccer Team (5-8) handed Lenoir-Rhyne University (5-8-1) a 2-0 loss Tuesday night at the Queens Sports Complex.

The Royals scored both goals in the first half as Felipe Netto (Salvador, BRAZIL) and Jeremy Chambers (Princeton, W.Va.) each found the back of net to lead Queens to the win.

Both of the Royals' goals were also within 33 seconds of each other.?

Netto opened the scoring at the 14:23 mark when the Bear goalkeeper misplayed the ball.? Julian Mitchell (Jacksonville, Fla.) was credited with the assist.

Netto assisted on Chambers' goal, the second and final one for Queens.? Netto fed Chambers, who dribbled in the box for the score.

Lenoir-Rhyne lost despite holding a 14-9 advantage in shots taken led by sophomore midfielder Mehmet Karakilinc's (Lanester, FRANCE) four shots.

Queens' Simen Walmann (Nevlunghavn, NORWAY) earned the shutout victory in goal after stopping four shots while L-R freshman goalkeeper Ashley Peyton-Bruhl (Brackley, ENGLAND) suffered the loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Wingate in a South Atlantic Conference match on Friday at 7 p.m.? Queens, meanwhile, visits King (Tenn.) for a match next Tuesday at 4 p.m.
