Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Falls To Queens By A 26-5 Score In Its First-Ever Match

Freshman Hayley Beattie was one of five players to score for Lenoir-Rhyne in a 26-5 loss to Queens Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium in the team's first-ever intercollegiate match.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Lacrosse Team (0-1) fell it its first-ever match in school history by a 26-5 score to Queens University (1-0) Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.

Five different players scored for Lenoir-Rhyne - freshman Victoria Velton (Centreville, Md.), freshman Kelsey Anderson (Wilmington, N.C.), freshman Rachel Hall (Durham, N.C.), freshman Hayley Beattie (Washington, N.J.) and junior Stevie Dellinger (Morganton, N.C.) - in the program debut for the Bears.

Queens was led by Brittany Philip (Painted Post, N.Y.) with five goals and two assists while Shannon Casey (Bel Air, Md.) added four goals and four assists to lead the Royals to the win.

Lenoir-Rhyne, under first year Head Coach Rachel Cibulas, remains at home to take on Pfeiffer Saturday at Moretz Stadium beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Queens hosts Lees-McRae on Sunday at Noon in a match at the Queens Sports Athletic Complex.
