Freshman Hayley Beattie scored four of Lenoir-Rhyne University's six goals in a 17-6 loss to Belmont Abbey College Monday evening at Moretz Stadium.

Hickory, N.C. - The Belmont Abbey College Women's Lacrosse Team (3-5) rallied from a two-goal deficit to defeat Lenoir-Rhyne University (3-6), 17-6, Monday evening at Moretz Stadium.

The Crusaders' Susan Killeavy (Austin, Texas) and Laura Dowd (Davidsonville, Md.) each scored four goals as Belmont Abbey rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to pick up the road win.

Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Hayley Beattie (Washington, N.J.) scored four times while junior Stevie Dellinger (Morganton, N.C.) added a goal and an assist despite the loss.

After Beattie scored twice in the first 2:18 to give L-R a 2-0 advantage, Belmont Abbey responded by scoring 12 of the next 13 goals to take control en route to the win.

Elyse Mohn (Huntingtown, Md.) added three goals while Tory Morgan (Oak Hill, Va.) picked up the victory in goal after stopping six shots for the Crusaders, who held a 28-15 advantage in shots taken for the contest.

Bear freshman goalkeeper Amanda Cotto (Fort Myers, Fla.) suffered the setback despite tallying eight saves.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Laurinburg, N.C., to face St. Andrews Presbyterian on Sunday beginning at 3 p.m.? Belmont Abbey, meanwhile, hosts Erskine on Wednesday, March 30, at 4 p.m.
