Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Ends Season With A 22-7 Setback To Rollins

Lenoir-Rhyne junior Stevie Dellinger scored twice in a 22-7 loss to ninth-ranked Rollins Wednesday afternoon in the Bears' regular season finale at Moretz Stadium.

Hickory, N.C. - The Rollins (Fla.) College Women's Lacrosse Team (12-4) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (6-10), 22-7, Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium in the Bears' final match of?their inaugural season.? The Tars are ranked No. 9 in NCAA Division II.

Rollins' Cat Kelley (Alexandria, Va.) finished with a match-high four goals and three assists while Marissa Giannerini (Baltimore, Md.) added three goals and three assists as the Tars kept their playoff hopes alive.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior Stevie Dellinger (Morganton, N.C.) and freshman Kelsey Anderson (Wilmington, N.C.) each scored twice for the Bears despite the setback.

After L-R sophomore Sarah Minick (Marietta, Ga.) opened the scoring with her team-leading 42nd goal of the year, Rollins reeled off 12 straight goals to take control en route to the easy win.

The Tars' Katy Tyszko (Clermont, Fla.) and Anna Townsend (Ocean City, Md.) added three goals each as well.

Elyse De Lisle (Windemere, Fla.) made three saves and picked up the victory in goal for Rollins, who held a 32-15 advantage in shots taken.? L-R freshman goalkeeper Amanda Cotto (Fort Myers, Fla.) suffered the loss despite stopping three shots.

Rollins wraps up the 2011 regular season with a match at undefeated and third-ranked Limestone on Saturday afternoon beginning at Noon in Gaffney, S.C.
