Banner Elk, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University and Lees-McRae College battled to a 0-0 tie after two overtimes Wednesday night in a non-conference men's soccer match at Tate Field.
With the tie, Lenoir-Rhyne's record now stands at 5-5-4 while Lees-McRae is 3-8-3 on the season.
Lees-McRae held a 20-13 edge in shots taken as both teams tied for the second consecutive match.
In goal, both Lenoir-Rhyne junior Stefan Dill (Southampton, BERMUDA) and Lees-McRae's Thomas Rusling (Sheffield, ENGLAND) both pitched a shutout as well after holding the other team scoreless for 110 minutes.
Dill finished with eight saves on the night while Rusling stopped five Lenoir-Rhyne shots.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Sunday when the Bears take on Tusculum at 3:00 p.m., in Greeneville, Tenn.
Lees-McRae travels to Wilson, N.C., to take on league-rival Barton in a Conference Carolinas match on Saturday night beginning at 7:00 p.m., for its next match.
