Lenoir-Rhyne Suffers An 18-4 Setback To No. 3 Limestone In Women's Lacrosse

Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Rachel Stefanski tallied a goal and an assist in an 18-4 setback to third-ranked Limestone Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field in Gaffney, S.C.

Gaffney, S.C. - The third-ranked Limestone College Women's Lacrosse Team (2-0) downed Lenoir-Rhyne University (1-2), 18-4, Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field.

Limestone's Sam McCarrick (Owsego, N.Y.) led all scorers with six goals while Sarah Oor (Uxbridge, CANADA) added three goals and four assists as the Saints prevailed.

Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Sarah Gioconda (Apex, N.C.) scored twice while freshman Rachel Stefanski (Syracuse, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist in the losing effort.

Limestone, which held a 46-13 advantage in shots taken and a 39-22 edge in ground balls, jumped out to a 10-2 halftime lead and never looked back.

Stefanksi cut the Saints lead?to 2-1 with the team's first goal of the match at the 23:20 mark of the first half but Limestone quickly took command by scoring seven straight goals.

Limestone's goalkeeper, Brigid Milchling (Cockysville, Md.), was credited with the win after stopping four shots while Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Allison Senft (Marietta, Ga.) suffered the loss in goal despite tallying 15 saves.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Pfeiffer on Saturday at Moretz Stadium beginning at Noon while Limestone hosts No. 8 Rollins Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
