Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Stuns Pfeiffer, 19-18

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Hayley Beattie scored a game-high five goals including the game-winner in the Bears' come-from-behind 19-18 win over Pfeiffer Saturday afternoon at Bears Field.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (2-2) rallied from a seven-goal deficit to defeat Pfeiffer (1-1), 19-18, Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.

L-R sophomore Hayley Beattie (Lebanon, N.J.) led all scorers with five goals including four after halftime and the game-winner as the Bears prevailed after falling behind by a 10-3 score midway through the first half.

Pfeiffer received four goals each from Natalie Marvin (South Berwick, Maine), Katherine Athens (Huntingtown, Md.) and Shannon Bonnel (Mechanicsville, Md.) despite the loss.

L-R freshmen Lauren Donovan (Hollywood, Md.) and Mary Minick (Marietta, Ga.) added three times each as well for the Bears, who held a 35-33 edge in shots taken in the win.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior Stevie Dellinger (Morganton, N.C.) tied the score at 18 with her second goal of the season at the 3:22 mark of the second half before Beattie tallied the game-winner with 30 seconds remaining.

L-R freshman Allison Senft (Marietta, Ga.) picked up the win in goal after stopping 10 shots while Pfeiffer's Rachel McCarthy (Austin, Texas) suffered the loss.? The Falcons starting goalkeeper, Jamie Alcala (Fredericksburg, Va.), was credited with nine saves.

Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Erskine next Friday afternoon starting at 4:00 p.m., while Pfeiffer returns home to?take on?Gannon on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m.
