Anderson, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (7-15, 5-10) suffered a 3-1 loss to Anderson (14-11, 10-7) in a South Atlantic Conference match Friday night at the Abney Athletic Center.

The Trojans defeated the Bears by scores 25-17, 25-19, 22-25 and 25-19 and completed the season sweep of Lenoir-Rhyne.

Anderson's Rachel Burts (Anderson, S.C.) led the way with 16 kills while Emily Conlin (Glendale, Ariz.) added 50 assists and 15 digs as the Trojans hit .264 for the match and held a 64-44 edge in kills in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior outside hitter Brooke Redmond (Statesville, N.C.) finished with a team-high 14 kills and 12 digs while junior setter Kathryn Sizemore (Arden, N.C.) totaled 35 assists and 15 digs in the losing effort.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior right side hitter Brandi Thomas (Wilmington, N.C.) also added a double-double – 10 kills and 12 digs – in the losing effort.  Lenoir-Rhyne finished with nine total blocks in the contest as well.

Lenoir-Rhyne remains on the road to take on Newberry in a South Atlantic Conference match on Saturday afternoon in Newberry, S.C., beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Anderson, meanwhile, hosts Brevard Saturday in a league contest at Noon.
