Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (11-17, 9-12) continued to roll with a 3-0 sweep of Lincoln Memorial (22-7, 16-5) Friday evening in a South Atlantic Conference match at Mars Gymnasium.
The Bears defeated the Lady Railsplitters by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24 for their fourth straight victory and defeated their third consecutive league first-place team.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by junior outside hitter
Brooke Redmond (Statesville, N.C.) with 11 kills while senior setter
Emma Pope (Kannapolis, N.C.) added a double-double – 14 assists and 11 digs – as the Bears avenged an earlier loss to the Lady Railsplitters.
Lincoln Memorial, which lost its third straight match and fell into a second-place tie in the league standings, was led by Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) with 10 kills and Erica Whitaker (Kingston Springs, Tenn.) added 26 digs in the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Jefferson City, Tenn., to take on Carson-Newman in the regular season finale Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., while Lincoln Memorial hosts Brevard in a league contest Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
