Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (6-3, 3-2) won its fourth straight game with a last-minute 57-56 victory over Carson-Newman (6-5, 3-2) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference game at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.

Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) led the way with 15 points while junior guard
Justyce Swango (Virginia Beach, Va.) broke a 56-all tie with the game-winning free throw with 0.5 seconds left.
Carson-Newman, which battled back from a 28-16 halftime deficit, was led by Mika Wester (Newport, Tenn.) with 18 points – all in the second half – and Kailyn Brooks (Lafayette, Tenn.) with 13 points in the losing effort.

Katie Pate picked up her 100th career win as a collegiate head coach.
The Eagles were also hurt by making just five-of-34 shots (15 percent) in the first half and turned the ball over 18 times in the loss.
Senior center
Chelsey Romero (Hampton, Va.) finished with 12 points for the Bears, who improved to 5-0 at home this season and won their 12th consecutive game at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium dating back to last year.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home to face Davis & Elkins on Monday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m. Carson-Newman takes on Mars Hill in a South Atlantic Conference game on the road on Saturday, December 31, at 2:00 p.m.
