Franklin Springs, Ga. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (6-1) swept a doubleheader from Emmanuel (Georgia) (0-8), 7-2 and 8-5, Saturday afternoon at Tommy Carey Field. The Bears have now won five straight games.
Game One – Lenoir-Rhyne 7,

Lenoir-Rhyne senior second baseman Ryan Perkins (Woodruff, S.C.) hit a three-run home run as part of a four-run third inning and finished with four runs batted in to lead the Bears to the win.
On the mound, sophomore Matt Sulllivan (Bristol, Va.) improved to 2-0 on the year after earning the win while striking out nine batters in pitching in middle relief for the Bears.
For Emmanuel, Brady Burgess (Hartwell, Ga.) hit a two-run home run while Cooper Murphy (Acworth, Ga.) suffered the loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne took control early with a five-run second inning to complete the sweep of Emmanuel.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman outfielder Grant Fuller (Simpsonville, S.C.) drove in two runs including a run-scoring double in the third inning as the Bears finished with 12 hits in the contest.
Junior Patrick LaGanke (Raleigh, N.C.) (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings in addition to four strikeouts to earn the win for the Bears while Austin Copeland (Anderson, S.C.) was tagged with the setback for the Lions.
Emmanuel's Derrick Carswell (Dahlonega, Ga.) finished with two runs scored and an RBI in the loss as well. In addition, Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Connor Dailey (Ruthefordton, N.C.) pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save.
