Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Pulls Off Upset Victory Over No. 17 Lynn, 10-9

Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (3-4) scored five goals in the fourth and final period to rally and notch an upset win over Lynn (5-2), 10-9, Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.

Lenoir-Rhyne freshman attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) led the way with five goals including four in the final period as the Bears came from behind to win their second straight game.

Buduo scored the game-winner with 4:50 left in the contest while sophomore attacker Taylor Thilo (Greensboro, N.C.) assisted on three of Buduo's goals in the fourth period.

Lynn, ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division II, lost despite holding a 50-34 edge in shots taken. 

The Fighting Knights were led by Anthony Rainone (Lynbrook, N.Y.) and Johnny Gavin (Laguna Beach, Calif.) with two goals each.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore midfielder Ben Corrigan (Johns Creek, Ga.) scored a pair of first-half goals while sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) made an impressive 19 saves on the day to earn the win.

Lynn's goalkeeper, Pat Brothers (Burlington, Mass.), suffered the loss despite making 12 saves on the afternoon.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday night at Wingate at 7:00 p.m., at Moretz Stadium.  Lynn hosts Tampa next Saturday, March 19, at 5:00 p.m.
