Beckley, W.Va. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (19-7) swept a doubleheader from Concord (5-10), 15-6 and 5-1, Tuesday afternoon at Epling Stadium.
Game One – Lenoir-Rhyne 15,
Concord 6 (seven innings)
Lenoir-Rhyne, trailing by a 5-3 score after two innings of play, broke the contest open with a nine-run third inning to take the first contest on the day.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman outfielder Justin Dean (Mauldin, S.C.) drove in three runs while freshman outfielder Justin Lara (Coconut Creek, Fla.) added three runs scored, three hits and two RBI in the win.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Connor Dailey (Rutherfordton, N.C.) improved to 4-0 on the year after pitching three innings of middle relief and striking out four batters while Concord's Nate Werner (Brookville, Ind.) fell to 0-3 after taking the loss.
Concord's Jordan Clark (Scott Depot, W.Va.) drove in two runs but the Mountain Lions were hurt by three errors and five Bears' runs were unearned.

Game Two – Lenoir-Rhyne 5, Concord 1 (10 innings)
The Bears broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run tenth inning to win the game and complete the sweep of the Mountain Lions.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior second baseman Will Thompson (Spartanburg, S.C.) opened the frame with the game-winning, solo home run while Lara and senior first baseman Colby Dishmond (Statesville, N.C.) both drove in two runs.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior Patrick LaGanke (Raleigh, N.C.) (3-0) was credited with the victory while Concord's Troy Beckner (Roanoke, Va.) (0-3) was tagged with the loss despite pitching into the tenth inning.
