Greeneville, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (5-4, 3-0) pushed its winning streak to four games with an 8-7 come-from-behind victory over Tusculum (2-5, 1-1) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Pioneer Field.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior attacker Will Remsen (Baldwin, N.Y.) and freshman attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) both scored twice as the Bears rallied from a 7-5 deficit midway through the fourth and final period to take the win.
Buduo, the current league offensive player of the week, scored the game-winner with 3:11 left in the contest. Lenoir-Rhyne junior attacker Mike Hanlon (Haymarket, Va.) added a goal and two assists. Hanlon has a team-leading 22 goals on the year.
Tusculum's Tyler Klarner (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) totaled two goals and three assists in the losing effort.
Lenoir-Rhyne held the edge in both shots taken (39-27) and ground balls (37-23) while sophomore Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) earned the victory in goal. Crompton made nine saves on the day.
For Tusculum, goalkeeper Kevin Haggerty (Suffern, N.Y.) suffered the loss despite making 14 stops. Andrew Kransberger (Grand Rapids, Mich.) also scored twice for the Pioneers.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains on the road to take on Brevard in a conference game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., in Brevard, N.C. Tusculum, meanwhile, plays Catawba next Saturday, March 26, in Salisbury, N.C., beginning at 7:00 p.m.
