Hickory, N.C. – The Regis (Colorado) Women's Lacrosse Team (4-0) remained unbeaten on the season with a 16-9 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne (2-3) Wednesday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.
The Rangers were led by Wendy Donier (Seattle, Wash.), who led all scorers with five goals while Melissa Hastie (Los Alamitos, Calif.) and Erin Todd (Colorado Springs, Colo.) added three goals each as Regis took control after spotting the Bears a 5-2 advantage.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by senior midfielder Claire Wach (Cary, N.C.) finished with four goals while junior attacker Torrey Schwitkis (San Diego, Calif.) scored three goals despite the loss. Schwitkis has a team-leading 10 goals on the year.
The Rangers used an 11-2 run over both halves to take control of the contest. Donier scored the game-winning goal with just 7:29 remaining in the first half.
Regis held the advantage in both shots taken (37-29) and ground balls (36-33) while goalkeeper Kenley Harrington (Fullerton, Calif.) earned the win after totaling nine saves on the day.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Ines Flueck (Coppell, Texas) suffered the loss in goal despite stopping nine shots.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home to take on Shippensburg (Pa.) on Saturday at home while Regis returns home to face Sunday, March 13, to face Lock Haven at 11:00 a.m.
