Charlotte, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (8-4, 6-0) pulled out a 12-11 win over Queens (8-5, 5-2) in double overtime Saturday night at the Royals Complex and remained in sole possession of first place in the South Atlantic Conference standings.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior attacker Mike Hanlon (Haymarket, Va.) scored the game-winner at the 2:16 mark of the second overtime as the Bears, ranked No. 20 in NCAA Division II, increased their winning streak to seven contests. 

Hanlon, who scored four times in the game, leads the squad with 31 goals on the year.  Hanlon also dished out three assists and ranks first on the team with 46 points as well.

No. 16 Queens, which rallied from a 10-6 deficit at the end of the third period to force overtime, was led by Garrett Chan (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada) with four goals in the losing effort.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore midfielder Ben Corrigan (Johns Creek, Ga.) added three goals and freshman attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) scored twice as the Bears were able to pull out the victory.

Queens held the edge in both shots taken (41-39) and ground balls (38-26) and Spencer Corkery (Winchester, Ontario, Canada) added three goals in the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) earned the win after tallying 18 saves on the night while Queens' Eric Dolan (Hopkinton, Mass.) suffered the loss despite making nine stops.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to take on Lincoln Memorial on Senior Day at 3:00 p.m., next Saturday, April 16, at Moretz Stadium in a South Atlantic Conference game.  Queens plays at Coker in a league contest next Saturday beginning at 8:00 p.m.
