Gaffney, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (2-1-1) was shut out by Limestone (3-0) by a 2-0 score on Saturday evening at Saints Field.
The Saints scored both their goals in the first half – one from Gui Machado (Sao Paulo, BRAZIL) and one from Louis Robles (Liverpool, ENGLAND) – at the 12:48 and 27:07 marks, respectively, and Limestone remained unbeaten on the season.  Machado has a team-leading three goals on the year.
Lenoir-Rhyne suffered its first loss of the year while junior goalkeeper Zach King (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) made a pair of saves in the losing effort.  Limestone's Greg Purvis (New Castle, ENGLAND) earned the shutout victory in goal while making three stops.  The Bears and the Saints each recorded 11 shots on the night.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Belmont Abbey on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m., at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex while Limestone takes on Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas match on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 p.m., in Mount Olive, N.C.
