Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team (2-0-1) continued its strong start with a 4-0 victory over USC Aiken (0-1) Wednesday night at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex.

Four different players scored for the Bears, who are ranked eighth in the first NSCAA NCAA Division II Southeast Region Poll this week.  Lenoir-Rhyne also broke the contest open with three goals after halftime.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior forward Ismael Noumansana (Reims, FRANCE) opened the scoring with his team-leading third goal of the season at the 26:38 mark of the first half.

Senior midfielder Mitch Botfield (Walsall, ENGLAND) led the way for the Bears in the second half with a goal and an assist.  The Bears made it a 2-0 advantage in the 69th minute when Botfield assisted with a cross to sophomore forward Marc Fernandez (Barcelona, SPAIN) for the score.

Freshman forward Devi Ndrita (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and Botfield rounded out the scoring with goals off a corner kick and free kick, respectively, in the final 10 minutes of the contest.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior Zach King (Altamonte Springs, Fla.) earned his second straight shutout victory in goal after making eight stops.  USC Aiken's Chase Boulton (Gilbert, Ariz.), with two saves, suffered the loss as the Pacers fell in their season opener.
