Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Swimming Team took on the two-defending national champions Queens and Limestone Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at the Shuford Physical Education Center on campus.
In the final team results, the Royals beat both the Saints (207-49) and the Bears (215-45) while Limestone bested Lenoir-Rhyne by a score of 166-92.
For the seniors for the Bears,
Erin McCann (Charlotte, N.C.) was seventh in the women's 500-yard freestyle (6:12.29) while
Briana Wright (Columbia, S.C.) was fifth in the women's 100-yard freestyle (1:01.01) and sixth in the women's 100-yard breaststroke (1:15.58).
In addition, sophomore
Hana Rutland (Anderson, S.C.) was third in the women's 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:40.83 for the Bears.
Lenoir-Rhyne next travels to Salisbury, N.C., on Saturday, January 21, to take on Catawba in a dual meet.
