Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Rolls On, 61-42 Over Coker

Hartsville, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (11-6, 7-4) made it three victories in a row with a 61-42 win over Coker (3-13, 2-9) Wednesday evening in a South Atlantic Conference game at the DeLoach Center.

Three players scored in double figures for the Bears – led by senior center Chelsey Romero (Hampton, Va.) with 13 points – and Lenoir-Rhyne's defense continued its impressive play this season.

Lenoir-Rhyne limited Coker to just 39 percent shooting (16-of-41) for the night and forced the Cobras into 19 turnovers in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhhyne senior forward Brooke Robinson (Vale, N.C.) added 12 points and sophomore forward Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) scored 11 points as the Bears held a 31-20 advantage at halftime and never looked back.

For Coker, Kendra Lambert (Palmyra, Ind.) scored a team-high 12 points but was lone player to reach double figures for the Cobras.  Lenoir-Rhyne also held a 33-24 advantage on the boards and handed Coker its third straight setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Brevard, N.C., to face Brevard in a league game Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.  Coker, meanwhile, hosts Lincoln Memorial Saturday at 2:00 p.m., as well.
